Pastor Earl J. Haggard is the senior pastor for Cawker City and Glen Elder UMC.
He is originally from the great state of Texas, and will gladly tout the greatness of Texas to anyone who will listen. This also means that he is a die hard Dallas Cowboys fan, and does not understand those who are not. He is married to Paula, who is currently in the nursing home in Wilson, KS, and they have one adult daughter, Hannah, who moved home to help take care of them, as they were dealing with some health issues. He has one grand-dog, Brutus, a miniature schnauzer, who loves to bark and eat cheese. Sadly, Brutus passed in May 2021, which has been hard, as he was 12, but a new grand-dog has come along……Archibald Oscar (Archie).
Pastor Earl has been in the ministry for over 40 years, and loves to preach. He loves to read, and cites C.S. Lewis as one of his favourite authors. He has been a United Methodist since 1999, and before that was part of the United Brethren in Christ tradition.
He loves to work on genealogy, and drive through cemeteries looking for headstones of ancestors. He also collects cookbooks, and loves to watch cooking, and true crime shows.
